He's here! We welcomed Jaxon Kelly Martin to the world on December 17th, 2015 at 11:25 am. He was 7 pounds 13 1/2 ounces, 19 3/4 inches long, strong, healthy and perfect. Dr. Brandl had asked me to check into the hospital at 11:00 pm on December 16th so they could induce labor early the next morning but when we got to the hospital that evening, labor had already begun on it's own. The labor was slow and controlled compared to Bryn's and Jax was born a little less than 12 hours later, on his Daddy's birthday. What an incredible gift!
Jax was born in El Paso, Texas at Providence Memorial Hospital in room 209.
Getting his footprints.
So tiny. So sweet.
Happy birthday, Daddy!
Jax's first bath.
He loved having his hair washed.
All clean.
Back in the room, right next to mommy's bed. I loved looking over and seeing this little face peaking at me all night. He never cried, not even with all of the heel sticks to check his blood sugar. The nurses kept telling us that he was the best baby. We think so too!
I love this progression of pictures of Elyse and Bryn meeting Jax for the very first time.
They came running into the hospital room so excited and all smiles.
Then Bryn pointed out something a little "odd" to Elyse. "What's that tube coming out of his belly button?"
Bryn wasn't phased by our explanation but Elyse was clearly bothered.
And then ended up in tears.
Luckily, Jax brought each of the girls a big sister present and that made everyone happy again.
Bryn was so excited to hold her baby brother for the first time. She is a natural.
Jax got kisses, kisses and more kisses.
I think I see a tiny smile.
Dr. Brandl took great care of both Jax and I through this pregnancy.
Dr. Brandl told me that Jax is like a little trophy for her and for us because we overcame so much and he is the ultimate reward.
Sweet little snuggle bug.
