Elyse, Bryn & Jax: Elyse Is 7 Years Old!

Elyse has had a wonderful week full of little celebrations for her 7th birthday. The icing on the cake though was that her actual birthday fell on Saturday this year which was also the first day of Spring Break. She was SO ready for a break from school and to celebrate being seven.

Because her birthday was during Spring Break, several of her friends from school were out of town. We missed her friend Kaitlyn's birthday and she was going to miss Elyse's so we met for frozen yogurt and a little pre-birthday celebration.

and more squished!

Elyse's class celebrated her birthday on Friday. She stood on the reading rug while they all sang "Happy Birthday" to her and then we passed out cupcakes.

Wish #1

Daddy surprised Elyse by making a balance beam for the backyard so she can practice her gymnastics (even more) at home.

Jax wanted to play on it too!

Time for a little pampering with manis and pedis.

The nail spa went out of their way to make Elyse's day so special. Each little girl got a Capri Sun to sip on while they got their pedicures and they even played kids music and videos including the Minions singing "Happy Birthday" instead of the usual relaxing classical mix the entire time we were there! I felt so bad for the other women that were there to get their nails done but everyone was so nice about it.

She was watching the birthday videos. I had to get several pictures because she looked so beautiful in the morning light that was pouring through the window.

The Best Surprise!
Eve called Elyse as we were leaving the nail spa to tell her that she was really sorry she wasn't going to be in town to celebrate with us but that she had a big present waiting for her in Mommy's room. When the kids got back to the house, they all ran into the room to see a huge, beautifully wrapped gift and as Elyse pulled open the top of the box, out popped Eve. They were so surprised and SO happy to see her!
