Happy 4th of July!

This was my favorite 4th of July in a long time! Denver definitely knows how to celebrate the holiday!
The Monday before the 4th, we took the kids to see fireworks in Cherry Creek. We sprawled out on the grass in the park and watched a big thunderstorm roll in, got rained on and ended up watching the fireworks from the car. Great memories!

The 4th of July
Papa and Nana came into town to spend the 4th of July and weekend with us. While we waited for them to get here, we went to the children's parade in Observatory Park. I can't describe how patriotic and festive the parade felt. So many families with so much pride in the USA.

After the parade was over, the local fire department sprayed the crowd down.

This was their favorite part.
After the parade, we went back home and had a delicious brisket dinner and went with Papa and Nana to watch one of the most spectacular fireworks shows we've ever seen. It really was a fantastic day!
