Are We There Yet?

We finally took a road trip back to Fort Worth for a few days to visit Bryan's family. It's been almost a year since we put our house on the market and moved. We knew it would be a long drive but didn't expect to hear Elyse say "Are we there yet? I want to go home now," within 40 minutes of leaving our house. Overall, the girls did great, thanks mostly to some yummy snacks and Mickey's "The Wizard of Dizz."

She was so happy with her movie and headphones.

We turned Bryn's car seat forward for the first time so she could see what was going on and watch the movies too. I think that helped a lot!

It wouldn't be a family vacation without someone needing to go to the doctor, but it was nice to see the girl's old pediatrician and catch up. We miss him a lot!

We made a quick trip out to the Wilson's house for a cookout and water fun for the kids. They set up their baby pool, water table and slip-and-slide. The girls had a blast.

Bryn gave Lori some of her best nuzzles.

It's so hard to get a good picture of Elyse since she's always running away from the camera, but Aunt Carla got this beautiful one by telling Elyse she was taking a picture of her graham cracker.

The girls got to pet and feed the horses at Mimi's.

Elyse was a little scared to feed them.
"They have really big teeth!"

Gaby is Elyse's favorite horse because she's a Palomino, just like the one Aurora rides in the princess book we read each night.

If you feed a carrot to one, they all come begging for more.

Carrots, please!

Getting ready to go for a little ride on Gaby.

 Sitting tall and pretty.

I'm not sure Bryn really knew what was happening.

We celebrated the 4th of July with a cookout at Uncle Bear's house and then later with some sparklers and fireworks at Grandpa and Mimi's.

Bryn only slept for 30 minutes each way in the car but was still such a happy baby.

Elyse looking "fabeous." - Fabulous

It was a wonderful trip and we're looking forward to another one soon!
