We Wish You A Merry Christmas

What a wonderful Christmas! Everyone was healthy and happy. We began our celebration with the Christmas Eve service at church and then went back to my parent's house for dinner and family gifts. The girls were surprised with this gorgeous doll house that used to belong to my sister and I when we were little and then to Eve. Papa, Nana and Eve worked so hard for several weeks to renovate this into a more modern dream house for Elyse and Bryn, complete with wood floors, a tile bathroom and a custom stain glass window designed and made by Papa.

You can see how elated Elyse is. Bryn immediately pulled out one of the dining chairs, put it on the floor and tried to sit on it. I know this doll house will be played with every day for many, many years.

Elyse was able to read every one's names on the gift tags this year so she helped hand out presents. She was especially good at finding her own name and Bryn's. It is possible (or likely) that she was looking specifically for those two names under the tree.

Beautiful Eve, trying on her cat hat. It was purrrrrrrrfect!

This is what you get when Bryn says, "Cheeeeeese!"

Christmas Morning at the Martin Casa
Elyse must have been a very good girl this year because Santa brought her a beautiful big girl bike. Do you see that huge grin on her face? It's not because she saw the bike she's spent months talking about and begging for, it's because she saw the stockings hanging on the fireplace and what Santa left in those.

Nothing makes this little girl happier or more excited than a balloon! Not even a brand new, fancy big girl bike…

Good Morning, Bryn! Santa was here!

Bryn, on the other hand, was ecstatic about the bike. She thinks it's hers, and for now, that's okay with Elyse because she has a balloon.

We are truly blessed and spoiled this year and have so much to be thankful for, a healthy family, two beautiful daughters, loving family and friends and knowing that God gave us the most precious gift on that very first Christmas.
