Elyse wanted to get her ears pierced more than anything else for her birthday. She's been asking on and off for the past year but really started begging for earrings when school began and she noticed how many other little girls in her class have earrings. We waited for her birthday to tell her that she could get her ears pierced and went Friday evening as soon as they were up from their naps. She picked out which earrings she wanted, little diamond butterflies, and sat patiently in the chair while Mommy had them mark and remark the spots to pierce on her ears at least six different times. We were so proud of how brave she was! She wanted to cry but held back the tears and as soon as she saw her reflection in the mirror, the quivering lip and chin turned into an ecstatic smile. I have to say, she looks gorgeous with them, but then, she is gorgeous no matter what!
