Today we found out that the owner of the studio where Elyse has been taking ballet for the past couple of years is retiring. We kind of knew this would happen soon but the news is still so sad. Lilia and I took ballet from her at the very same studio when we were young. Elyse overheard me telling my mom the news and asked me tonight as she stared at a picture of herself from the recital last spring, "Does Mrs. Driscoll have diarrhea?" I laughed and said, "No honey, she's RETIRING." I explained to her what that meant and she got very teary and asked, "But who is going to sit at her desk?" The mind of a 4 year old…
