We had a very fun and busy Halloween this year. It seems like the holidays only get crazier as the kids get older. We finally got to carve our pumpkins on Sunday afternoon and Elyse really wanted to help get all of the pulp and seeds out.
Helping Daddy clean out the pumpkin.
After a few handfuls, she decided she didn't want to do that part after all. I don't blame her!
There was no way Bryn was going to stick her hand in there.
Daddy to the rescue.
Now to the fun part!
The girls worked hard to carve a very special pumpkin for their baby brother.
Jax and his "Jax-o'-lantern." Elyse and Bryn wanted a pumpkin that looks like Jax so they gave him eyes "like Jax's when he smiles" and a sweet smile with two bottom teeth.
He was so happy with his pumpkin!
The girls and their masterpieces. The cat is really actually Bryan's masterpiece.
Bryn had a fun day at school on Halloween. All of the children got to dress up and they did all kinds of Halloween activities and games. She came home with a box full of treats from her friends.
Two Princess Elenas and one Jax-o'-lantern ready to go trick-or-treating.
Jax says, "Let's go already!"
Our two gorgeous princesses.
Aunt Lilia held Jax at his first trick-or-treat stop and he even got some candy. We noticed a huge change in Bryn this year. For the first time, she was excited and not scared or timid to run up to the houses to trick-or-treat. In fact, Bryn was the one leading the pack of kids up to every door and ringing every bell, even at the scary houses. I'm so proud of her!
Watching his sisters run up to houses to get candy.
This was the girl's first year to trick-or-treat with friends. One of Elyse's classmates had a Halloween party at her house so the kids all met up there and then went trick-or-treating together before heading back to the party for goodies.
Back at home and Jax got a hold of a sucker.
Smell it...
Taste it...
We decided he could taste cherry through the wrapper because he had a death grip on that sucker for the rest of the night and kept liking the paper.
Elyse and Bryn love to hand out candy almost as much as they love to trick-or-treat. This morning on the way to school they both told me that Halloween was, "So. Much. Fun."
I agree.
