Colorado Springs - Summer Vacation 2017

We took a road trip to Colorado Springs this summer to visit family. It worked out perfectly for us that Chad, Amanda and the kids just moved there in June. We've been aching to see them and to meet our twin nieces, Megan and Morgan and were already planning to go to Colorado Springs this summer to visit Soapy, Christy, Caileigh and Braedon. And, as an added bonus, Dee was there at the same time!

The road trip begins. We hadn't even made it to the highway and the girls were already asking, "how much longer" and Jax was bored and yawning!

A car full of cuteness.

He did so well for the majority of the drive!

Kicking back and watching his favorite movie, Moana.

Finally, a nap!

I gave the girls a sucker to pass the time and space their constant snacking out a little. All of a sudden we heard Elyse screaming that she lost her tooth! At first I thought she was just playing around but nope! It popped right out while she was eating her sucker.

Still such a beautiful smile!

We practically begged the girls to take a nap while we were driving but they said they weren't tired. Wouldn't you know, Bryn crashed right when we pulled up to the hotel.

All three babies meeting their cousins for the first time.

I love the expressions on Jax and Morgan's faces. He just realized that she was stealing his oranges and she just realized that she got busted!

Sweet Mitchell.

All the kids together. It looked like a day care!

Three babies in a bath.

Jax borrowed a Texas Rangers baseball cap from Mitchell. This is the first time he's ever left one on and he looked so adorable!

We tried to line all the kids up for a picture from youngest to oldest on the 4th of July. I'm not sure what we were thinking though because Jax is actually a couple of weeks younger than Megan and Morgan. We will just say we put them in order from smallest to biggest.

The kids sure love their cousin Caileigh!

A stroll through the neighborhood.

We took the kids down the street to play at the splash pad. Poor Jax was freezing and miserable so I took him over to the park instead.

Elyse and Aunt Amanda enjoying the swings and a little chat.

After the splash pad and park, we went back to Chad and Amanda's house for firecrackers and poppers. The kids had so much fun!

Daddy helped everyone shoot their confetti guns.

Jax just wanted to sweep.

We took a little trip up to Park Meadows Mall and the American Girl store just south of Denver and Caileigh and Braedon went along with us for the day.

Bryn wants to be a "baby doctor" when she grows up and was in heaven with all of the baby dolls, accessories and equipment.

We couldn't skip the Disney Store.

After a long evening of family pictures, these kiddos deserved an ice cream treat!

Nom nom nom!

The next day, we met Dee, Amanda and the kids in Manitou Springs for lunch and a little shopping. It is such a beautiful and fun town!

Playing in bubbles.

Jax and Daddy waited patiently while the girls and I shopped.

Time for a little BBQ.

One last picture of all the kids.

And all three of our God children.

We tried to get one with all of our nieces and nephews but it wasn't happening.

Jax was done taking pictures too.

He's not having it.

Dee's face says it all!

Heading home after a great trip. We had such a wonderful time with everyone and enjoyed every second we got to spend together!
